Spring has sprung and whether that means wearing sassy spaghetti strap dresses while strolling along the French Rivera (Note to self: get on that Kickstarter) or just getting your pasty mug away from your computer at lunchtime, sho ‘nuff, more skin will be showing. I don’t know about you, but I like a nice purty glow when I’m sitting on the patio, drinking a gin fizz. Okay fine, a crap beer. At any rate, I’d like to let you in a few essentials that will help you with your glowin’ and showin’.

1. Aubrey Organics.

I picked up some of their Revitalizing Therapy skin care samples at Natural Product Expo West and they are all the bomb. The therapy line is formulated with organic rose hip oil (oh la la!) and is perfect for dry or mature skin. I gots both! I use the cleanser, toner, serum (dope) and moisturizer, and then I’m gorgeous. Of course, you won’t find parabens, petrochemicals, artificial colors or fragrances in their line. Check out their site for tons of other stuff, even sunscreen for the kiddos in a spray bottle (easy application for the bratty ones like mine).

2. free by Chandler Farms.

HOLY ORANGUTAN. I can’t get enough of this stuff. I think I stopped by their booth 5 times a day for a scoop of the Coconut and Banana Body Butter. You should buy the stuff based on the smell alone, but there’s so much more to this company. They are all about the orangs and leaving them alone. No palm oil in any of their stuff and a portion of the proceeds to go conservation efforts. I’ve seriously gone ape for this stuff. Okay, that was bad. BUT IT’S TRUE. Check ‘em out. You will be happy you did. 

3. alba Botanica self tanner.

Everyone knows alba, and for good reason. They have lots of great stuff but they really won me over with the self tanner. It goes on light, dries quickly and smells really nice. Other tanners tend to have a stank to them and I can’t get jiggy with that. This one’s also without a gross orange color and very easy to apply, ensuring a nice, even tone-even for the super lame applicant, ME.

Now you know what goods will clean and lube yo mug, keep your hands and dry, crackly heels nice and soft (and you’ll smell like a tropical beach) and you’ll have a glorious, sunless tan to sport while in your teeny tiny bikini (or head to toe ninja uniform if you go to the beach like me).
